Introduction of The Academy of Digital China (Fujian)
In his congratulatory letter to the first Digital China Construction Summit held in 2018, General Secretary of the CPC,Xi Jinping said: “When working in Fujian in 2000, I made a plan to build digital Fujian. After years of exploration and practice, Fujian has made considerable progress in e-government, digital economy and smart society.” It is to adapt to the new historical orientation of China's development, comprehensively implement new development concepts, cultivate new momentum with information technology, promote new development with new momentum, and create new brilliance with new development. In order to summarize and popularize the experience of digital Fujian and accelerate the construction of digital China, The Academy of Digital China(Fujian) was officially launched in April 2018 with the strong support of the Central Network Information Office, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Fujian Provincial government and Fuzhou Municipal Government.
“Fujian Spatial Information Engineering Research Center” is one of the major “131” projects launched in 2000 in “Digital Fujian”. In order to better continue the experience of digital Fujian construction and consolidate professional support team, and better promote the construction of digital China, the Fujian Provincial Government decided in 2018 to rename, reform and upgrade the "Fujian Spatial Information Engineering Research Center" to The Academy of Digital China(Fujian), with independent legal personality.
Digital Fujian is the ideological source and practical starting point of digital China. From digital Fujian to digital China, looking back on history is the top-level design of science, but also full of wisdom and innovation. Looking ahead, The Academy of Digital China(Fujian) will actively explore innovative development mechanisms, gather resources for innovation and entrepreneurship, lead breakthroughs in core technologies, promote industrial digitalization and digital industrialization, and speed up the construction of Digital China, develop digital economy and serve “one belt and one Road”. UN 2030 aims at sustainable development, empowering digital China and contributing to Fujian wisdom.
The Academy of Digital China is headquartered in Fuzhou; according to development needs, it can establish relevant academy in Beijing and other places to form a distributed operation network.The academy will carry forward the spirit of reform and opening up, constantly innovate the mechanism, advance with the times, and gradually explore the socialized operation mode under the guidance of the government.
Based on the construction foundation and construction experience of “Digital Fujian”, the Institute has established a wide network of partnerships to gather high-end scientific research teams and corporate talents in the fields of digital economy, e-government, digital culture, smart society and digital ecology.To carry out comprehensive strategic consulting, technology research, development and application services, including: (1) Establishing a national think tank, conducting research on the development strategy of digital China, providing relevant departments with advice report on digital China's development direction, development strategy, policy initiatives, and international cooperation and development.(2) As a professional academic consulting institution of the “Digital China Summit”, it provides comprehensive expert consultation and professional academic support for the preparation, organization, achievement transformation and project docking of the summit.(3) Organizing and conducting standard specification research, developing of cutting-edge key technologies for digital China construction (4) Promote the application of digital construction results and industrial development, provide system engineering consulting, planning and design for relevant parties, especially local governments, undertake various information system engineering construction, carry out data resource mining, sharing and application services, and promote industrialization development.(5) Provide third-party expert consultation, evaluation and supervision services for digital China construction ,major local projects and so on.(6) Promote the combination of production, education, research and application， carry out education, training and capacity building services for high-end management talents and technical professionals in related fields in digital China.(7) Organize international scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation in the construction of digital China; promote the construction and operation of the “International Training Center of Digital China ”.
